Students applying as a first-year student must provide the following items to complete the admissions process:

Students are not guaranteed admission based on meeting these requirements. All applicants are reviewed holistically by the admission committee. The committee awards admission only to those applicants who show a strong likelihood of success.
Nursing: First-year students who meet the following requirements will receive admission into the Nursing Program. Admission to the Nursing Program is competitive and students are encouraged to apply early for admission to MacMurray:
- 2.75/4.00 high school GPA
- ACT composite of 20 or 1020 on the SAT
- 2 semesters of chemistry with a grade C or better within the last 5 years

- Transfer students who have earned at least 24 transferable credit hours will be reviewed solely on their college academic record.

- Transfer students who have earned fewer than 24 transferable credit hours will be reviewed on their high school academic record.

Students who earn an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree from an accredited Illinois two-year college will be granted 60 transfer credits (junior standing) at MacMurray, and will have the general education requirements considered fulfilled with the exception of any specific MacMurray-required general education courses or experiential learning courses which cannot reasonably be construed to have been met at the two-year level.
After a student attains junior standing (60 hours) at MacMurray, further courses at two-year colleges will not earn credit hours towards MacMurray graduation except with permission of One-Stop Student Services, but may continue to satisfy specific course requirements.

Nursing: Transfer students who meet the following requirements will be considered for admission into the Nursing Program and placed on the nursing admission waitlist. The deadline to be considered for the transfer nursing waitlist is March 1.

- Completion of Microbiology (equivalent to Mac's BIOL 209) and Organic Chemistry (equivalent to Mac's CHEM 131) with a grade of C or higher

Students applying to the LPN to BSN Bridge Program must meet the following requirements to be considered for the admission waitlist. Availability is on a first come, first serve basis. The track is only available for the start of spring semester and has limited space.
- 2.75/4.00 or higher cumulative college GPA
- 20 ACT composite or 1020 on the SAT
- Completion of Chemistry 100 with a C or better in the past 5 years
- Students must have enough college coursework completed to be ready to start in the BSN academic plan during the spring semester of sophomore year
- Copy of current LPN license

Online Students
Students looking to enroll in the Business Administration or Criminal Justice online programs must meet the following criteria to be considered for admission:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher in high school.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.00 if transferring from another college.
- Students with fewer than 24 transferable credit hours are reviewed based on their high school record.
Students looking to enroll in the RN to BSN Online Program must meet the following requirements:
- Cumulative transfer GPA of 2.50/4.00 or higher with grades C or higher in all nursing and nursing support courses.
- Copy of unencumbered license as a registered nurse (RN) in Illinois which must remain current throughout the duration of the program.
- Two professional letters of recommendation, preferably on company letterhead.
- Graduated from an accredited institution with an Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing.

How to Apply for Admission as an International Student
At MacMurray College, your ability to succeed is not simply a matter of your secondary school academic record, but instead a composite of your academic preparation, the potential contributions you will bring as a student to enhance diversity of thought and culture on our campus, your desire to participate in various student organizations, your ability to effectively read, write and converse in English, and how well you will be able to navigate both your academics and social life while studying at the College.
Accordingly, we ask that you provide the following information in the application process:
- Complete an application for admission. You may use the MacMurray application for Admission or the Common Application. You do not need to file both, and there is no fee for you to apply using either application.
- Take and submit official test scores from one of the following:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 500 (paper) or 170 (computer-based) is required for the TOEFL.
- International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP). A minimum score of 3.5 is required for the iTEP.
- IELTS score of at least 6 Band.
- A certified bank statement showing you have adequate financial support to meet costs for tuition, room, board, books, personal goods and travel for at least the first year of study. If you receive a merit-based scholarship from MacMurray, you will only have to show support for costs beyond the scholarship you are awarded.
- Submit official transcript, leaving certificate, International Baccalaureate diploma (IB), advanced level exam certificate or other official document showing you have completed your course of study. You must provide us with an English translation.
- You are not required to submit SAT or ACT test scores to MacMurray. You may include official test results as part of your application if you have already taken the test, and these will be considered along with other information you provide.

Veterans
Veterans who would like to be eligible for GI benefits must submit an official DD-214 form prior to enrolling to MacMurray College and a Certificate of Eligibility (COE). See application requirements above to find out the materials you must submit for your application for admission to MacMurray College.
All prospective TA students must first speak with their unit Education Service Officer (ESO), a military counselor, or visit their local installation Education Center regarding your desire to use Federal Tuition Assistance. Service members must coordinate with ESOs and receive approval from commanders before they begin using Federal Tuition Assistance.

Educational Opportunities
As a yellow ribbon school, MacMurray College takes part in those programs offered to veterans through Military Tuition Assistance (TA) and the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The College has made the Yellow Ribbon pledge to cover the full cost of MacMurray tuition and fees (worth over $20,000 a year) for all veterans who qualify for full Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits.
We also participate in all Veterans Administration programs of aid for veterans and their dependents, from the Vietnam era to the present. This includes the improved Montgomery GI Bill chapter 30 and chapter 1606 as well as the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Either one can cover the entire expense of attending college. The Veterans Administration also pays a housing allowance and up to $1,000 a year for books.
Transfer Credit
MacMurray College awards transfer credit as appropriate for military training, coursework and occupational specialty, according to recommendations of the American Council on Education. This means, with your discharge papers, military schools and Joint Services Transcript (JST), you will be credited for equivalent classes.
